Privacy Policy
1. What we collect
- Account data — email, password hash, consent records.
- Profile data — whatever you choose to put on your chef page. Fields you mark private stay out of your public page, search engines and AI crawlers.
- Inquiries — when a visitor contacts a chef: name, contact details and message (delivered to that chef).
- Usage data — search queries (for trends), basic logs and IP-based rate-limiting data. We don't run third-party ad trackers.
2. How we use it
To operate the service: render public profiles, deliver inquiries, send transactional email (verification codes, lead notifications), prevent abuse, and improve discovery. Marketing email is sent only with your opt-in and every message has one-click unsubscribe.
3. Sharing
We don't sell personal data. It is processed by our infrastructure providers (Cloudflare, Neon/AWS for database and email delivery) strictly to run the service. Public profile content is, by design, public — including to search engines and AI assistants.
4. Your rights (DPDP Act / GDPR)
From your account page you can export all your data (JSON) and delete your account, which unpublishes your page, removes your credentials and scrambles your personal identifiers. For anything else: support@chefnetwork.in (grievance contact).
5. Retention & security
We keep data while your account is active. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; sessions use short-lived tokens; access to production data is restricted. Inquiry records may be retained in anonymised/aggregate form after deletion where required for abuse prevention.
